Get ready explorers!

On the 8th of April 2024, a new event begins and runs until the 11th of April. For just £15 per day, your child can learn and create memories that will last a lifetime. On offer are trips to Pennington Flash, Haigh Hall and the Lancashire Mining Museum with the groups rotating through these trips from the 8th April to the 10th April. On the 11th April, all groups will take part in the same activity which is Clog Dancing and a Wiganese Quiz in the morning. In the afternoon, it will be "Desert Island Spotify No 1."

There are plenty of sites hosting this event located all around Wigan such as Bickershaw, Leigh South, Norley Hall, Poolstock, Shakerley and Scholes.

We will provide everything your child will need for a fun day of adventure, including a nutritious packed lunch. If they wish to do so, children can also bring their mobile phones and cameras to capture their experiences. Before leaving, please ensure your children are dressed appropriately taking into account the activities they will be taking part in.

Depending on location, the coaches will depart at either 9:30am or 10am returning to the pickup site by 14:00, traffic permitting.

Your child's safety is our main priority. All staff involved are fully trained in child safeguarding, protection and hold DBS certificates ensuring a safe environment for the children so the parents don't have to worry!

If your child is on free school meals, this event will be fully subsidised so your child can attend for FREE!

Unfortunately, our programme may not be suitable for children in wheelchairs or with complex personal needs due to the nature of our trips.

Staff at Sunshine House in Scholes have begun work on reconstructing the building into a modern dance studio. The building, which is a centre for people to get together, is now undergoing a total change into becoming a dance studio for people who want to learn dance styles like street, ballet and tap dancing.

This project will allow new people to start a hobby and connect with people and make new friends. Pianos, Pies and Pirouettes is trying to break the stigma that only certain people can do certain things and show that anyone can do anything.

(New flooring in Sunshine House)

Sunshine house is currently being stripped of its wallpaper, furniture and flooring to make room for new decor. This project will completely change the interior of the building and make room for new and improved features. These new additions to the building include things such as brand new flooring all throughout the building for the perfect dance routine. In addition to all of these new features, there will also be large mirrors that will span all across the new modern dance studio.

The director, Alan Gregory announced that Pianos, Pies and Pirouettes would be opening up to the public on the 20th April 2024, however if you would like to reserve your spot then you can sign up today on the contact us page.

YOUR OPEN DAY! Sunday 5th June 2022

Coinciding with The Queen’s Jubilee and the recent anniversary of the 1972 Bickershaw Festival. Our little Village Club opens its doors to the wider community. Bringing with it a new lease of life to you and your family.

Led by Wigan & Leigh Community Charity and brought to life via consultations between the Local Community, The Village Club and Abram Neighbourhood Plan. We now have a destination to host all kinds of classes, clubs, talks and events.

The venue also becomes the new home of Pianos, Pies & Pirouettes Dance School and will be utilising the main hall to carry out its weekly timetable. The school will be delivering a showcase performance on the day and will be your chance to find out further information on how to become a part of the school itself.

As Bickershaw Village Club continues to function as a

club and all that brings, this key community location offers valuable spaces that can be utilised in any number of ways.

This Opening Day presents an opportunity to have your say on what that is and what it becomes. Your opinions really do matter and will shape the future of what happens here.
